Frequently Asked Questions
What is coaching?
Coaching is a facilitation process where the coach works with the client on defining and achieving their goals. This can be on an individual basis, in groups, or with existing teams. Coaching is not therapy and we do not focus on healing your past. At times we may discuss past events through the process of our discovery as we work through the present and the path to the future, but the goal is not to heal past traumas. We work in the present and future visioning. I serve as a catalyst for change in the lives of my clients with recognition that my clients are whole and resourceful individuals. I partner with you on your journey or self discovery, building on your strengths to support you in your challenges. I see my clients as the experts in their lives and I support their goals in their life journey. I follow the ICF Core Competencies and Ethics through my coaching practice.

What is Holistic coaching?
Holistic coaching considers the whole person - seeing all parts of the person as integrated. We do not isolate our focus but rather consider each part within the picture of the whole.
What is the difference between team and group coaching?
Teams have commonalities that connect them through existing relationships. For example, through work you are likely part of a team where you share a common purpose and have relationships with your team members which bring you together as a team. Groups may or may not have prior relationships but may benefit from coaching in a group based environment as this can support the individual's reflection and development through listening and learning from the experiences of others.

Why would I want to do a DISC or TEIQue Assessment?
The PPA+ (DISC) and TEIQue are professional psychometric tools that offer deep insight into how you naturally behave, communicate, and respond under pressure (PPA+), or how you understand and manage your emotions and relationships (TEIQue). Whether you're looking to enhance self-awareness, improve your communication, navigate interpersonal challenges, or grow as a leader, these assessments provide a solid foundation.
By completing one of these assessments, you'll gain:
-
Clarity on your behavioural or emotional strengths and blind spots
-
Language to understand and explain your patterns and preferences
-
Actionable insights to support coaching, development, or counselling work
-
A personalized debrief to help you apply the results to real-life situations
These tools are ideal for individuals seeking meaningful personal or professional growth and are especially helpful when integrated into coaching sessions.

How can my team benefit from DSIC?
DISC (PPA+) offers more than just insight into individual personalities—it helps teams understand how they work together, why tension may arise, and what they can do to improve collaboration. By identifying each member’s natural behavioural style, DISC reveals not only strengths, but also potential blind spots at both the individual and team level.
Common team challenges that DISC can help uncover include:
-
Communication breakdowns due to differing styles
-
Mismatches between role expectations and behavioural preferences
-
Avoidance of conflict or over-dominance by certain styles
-
Resistance to change or difficulty with fast-paced environments
-
Imbalances in decision-making or innovation due to team composition
My role as a certified DISC practitioner goes beyond delivering assessment results. Through skilled coaching and team facilitation, I guide your team in understanding their results within the context of their work, relationships, and goals. I help surface unspoken dynamics, support honest reflection, and introduce practical tools such as:
-
Behavioural mapping for project or role alignment
-
Team charters that reflect working style awareness
-
Feedback protocols to reduce miscommunication
-
Conflict resolution strategies grounded in behavioural awareness
-
Proven Techniques grounded in theory
The result? A team that’s not only more self-aware, but also equipped to work through challenges with greater clarity, empathy, and purpose.
